Karnes Electric Cooperative (KEC) is seeking a forward-thinking financial executive to join our leadership team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). We are looking for a leader who can balance operational excellence with long-term strategic vision to serve our member-owners and employees with care and competence.

Candidates must bring demonstrated expertise in finance and accounting, preferably in the electric cooperative or utility sector, along with strong analytical and communication skills. A commitment to transparency, integrity and accountability is non-negotiable, as is the emotional intelligence to foster trust and collaboration across teams.

Location: Primary office out of Karnes City, TX, but also visit the Pleasanton, TX office as needed.
Work Schedule: Daily on site attendance required

Position Summary
The CFO will lead financial and accounting administration, business planning, and budgeting. The CFO will manage the financial and accounting activities of the Cooperative. This includes financial reporting, modeling, budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, warehousing, and compliance with regulations and industry standards. The CFO also plays a lead role in long-term financial planning, risk management, and working with the General Manager and Board on financial strategy. As the CFO, this position provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching for direct reports. The CFO will report directly to the General Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.
• A master’s degree or CPA license is preferred
• 10+ years of business experience in finance and accounting with five (5) years of supervisor experience are expected. Previous electric cooperative, electric utility, or other utility experience is preferred.

Position Summary
The Network Administrator designs, implements, secures, and supports KEC’s network and infrastructure environments. This role helps ensure the reliability, cybersecurity, performance, and resilience of the systems that keep the cooperative connected.

We’re looking for someone who takes a thoughtful approach to problem-solving, seeking to understand root causes and long-term solutions rather than quick fixes.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of network administration experience
• Experience with network design, security, monitoring, troubleshooting, and infrastructure management
• Utility, electric cooperative, or critical infrastructure experience preferred
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Positive attitude and commitment to customer service
• Safe work ethic and valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with cloud and hybrid environments
• Relevant industry certifications
• Experience supporting mission-critical systems with high availability requirements
