Karnes Electric Cooperative is committed to empowering the communities it serves, and that means more than providing electricity. Karnes Electric Co-op also works to improve the quality of life in our part of South Texas, which includes investing in the area’s youths. Karnes EC helps shape tomorrow’s leaders and is again proudly sponsoring TWO students on the Government-in-Action Youth Tour. It’s an all-expenses-paid, weeklong learning and leadership event in Washington, D.C., this June. The cooperative is now accepting applications, so act quickly!
Each recipient will receive a $3,500 college scholarship upon graduating high school!
*Recipients of the KEC Youth Tour will not be eligible to apply for an additional KEC scholarship their graduating senior year.
Students have the option of downloading the pdf application or filling out the application completely online. All applications are due January 29, 2027 by 5:00 p.m.
